Jobs & Internships
Jobs and Staff Openings
There are currenlty no openings at Seattle magazine.
Editorial Internships
Editorial internships are available at Seattle magazine throughout the year. Most require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week in our office, during business hours. Work schedules are usually either a morning shift or an afternoon shift. Internships generally last for six months and openings occur approximately every three to four months. Academic credit is available. If academic credit is not needed, a nominal stipend is paid.
Seattle Magazine Editorial Internship
Now accepting applications for two 6-month internships, one starting on March 20, 2012 and one on April 10, 2012.
A six-month (half-day, five days a week) internship working closely with top editors researching, writing and editing material for the monthly magazine. Projects might include the following: proofreading articles, fact-checking stories, writing sidebars, researching writing assignments, conducting interviews and investigations, attending concerts and parties, reviewing restaurants, responding to queries, clipping and filing potential story leads, logging artwork, and mailing returns. All editorial interns also provide invaluable support to our online editor, including uploading magazine content to the online archives, maintaining directories, assisting with social media coverage, and researching and pitching blog ideas. This portion of your internship is a great opportunity to broaden your understanding of SEO, online content strategy and basic tools for the web.
Not currently accepting applications at this time. Please check back in August 2012.
